Following a ballot of members some weeks ago, The NASRA membership have accepted the PSA 2010 - 2014 (Croke Park Deal) by a majority of 86%. This decision now paves the way for engagement with management within the NAS who previously qouted NASRA's exclusion from the Croke Park Deal as the only reason why they should not and would not engage with us.
Nasra interim National Secretary Derek O'Rourke has written to the Road Safety Authority asking for clarification on road traffic exemptions for Ambulance personnel engaged on emergency duties. He has also asked the RSA to look in to the feasability of issueing NAS personnel with state driving licences / permits, this is in light of the added pressures now placed upon us by HIQA's response time targets and managements ill concieved service plan to meet these targets states Mr. O'Rourke Mr. Declan Naughton of the RSA is reviewing our request and concerns and will revert to us in due course
NASRA have written to Macartan Hughes of the National Ambulance Service College seeking assurements that our members within the NAS who have had no previous computer experience will be offered some form of IT training to enable them complete the e-learning module of CPG 3rd edition so as not to inhibit their proffessional development, we await his response.
NASRA have written to the Health Minister Dr. James Reilly seeking a meeting with him at his earliest convenience and we await his reply.
