31st August 2011

To all Nasra Members,

NASRA representatives will meet with staff of the Health & Safety Authority within the next 14 days re our concerns re Sole Responders. (Tony Gregg has been offered a number of dates and will finalise same over the next few days).

This meeting arises from concerns expressed by Paramedics re the numbers of assaults experienced, the increased risk of assault in some areas of town and cities, the existence of so-called “no-go areas” and increased risk carried by Sole Responders arriving at the scene of an accident, event or incident without support.

In order to maximise the impact of our presentation to the HSA I am to request that you provide examples of incidents you believe may highlight the dangers faced by Paramedic Sole Responders.

In this regard please ensure your submissions are received in Head Office before 8.09.11.

Yours Sincerely,

Des Kavanagh

General Secretary
